First Stirrings of Spring
“First Stirrings of Spring” features adders in bracken, sketched on Kelling Heath, North Norfolk, this spring.
We are lucky to have a good population of Brown Hares in Norfolk, but that doesn’t mean sketching them is easy! “Brown Hare” is a study of one of them:
“What Remains” is a study of a Barn Owl pellet, found at Bessingham Church in Norfolk on a walk earlier this year. It took me two days to dissect the pellet and catalogue the bones. The pellet contained the remains of three Field Voles, with 320 individual bones in total. The picture is in the recently published book “The Elegant Fowl“.
